We are excited to announce that anyone can now take the opportunity to join in one of our popular Strong Foundations classes in Wimbledon - with our new FREE Taster sessions. The tasters have already been really popular - they are a great chance to come along and see what we do and if it might be right for you. The best way is to take part in the class and get a feeling for all the exercises, but if you prefer to just watch that's fine by us. Our experienced instructors are very friendly and the other class members will help out if you need it as well. It's friendly and sociable, so don't worry about coming by yourself, but feel free to invite a friend if you want to. Strong Foundations classes featured on Radio 4's Frontiers programme (19/08/2010)
Vida Wellness exercise classes in Wimbledon were featured in a fascinating science programme - Frontiers - on Radio 4 (August 18th, 2010). The programme discussed muscle wastage and re-building, in particular amongst older people and those with specific diseases. The programme talks about some fascinating new research in this area, and showcases our Strong Foundations classes in Wimbledon. A number of our class members are featured discussing what we do in sessions, and the benefits they have experienced as a result of attending Vida Wellness classes. BBC Radio 4 Science programme to feature Vida Wellness classes (05/07/2010)

Changing the Way We Age - Wimbledon Tea Party! (15/03/2010)
Great fun was had by all at the Vida Wellness 'Changing the Way We Age' tea party on Saturday March 13th. Our members, their friends and local residents all had a wonderful afternoon - combining games and laughter with important information on health and wellbeing. The Mayor of Merton supports Vida Wellness (18/01/2010)
We were delighted to be joined by the Mayor & Mayoress of Merton at our Changing the Way We Age event in Wimbledon. We had a lovely afternoon with members, friends and local residents, drinking tea, eating cake and learning tai chi. our Vida Demonstration Team showed off some of their favourite exercises and everyone had a chance to talk to old and new friends. Vida Wellness at the Wandsworth Independence & Well-being Event (22/10/09)
We had a great day at this event in the Civic Suite, Wandsworth, on October 21st. There were lots of really interesting exhibitors, and the entertainment - including Bollywood dancing and gospel singing - was fantastic! It was good to meet so many new people, who we look forward to seeing at our upcoming events and classes.
Vida Wellness participates in Pro-ACT 65+ Research (16/07/09)
Vida Wellness is excited to be involved in a prestigious new research trial being run by University College London Medical School. The Pro-ACT 65+ trial is a randomised, controlled clinical trial comparing a community group exercise programme with home based exercise and usual care for people aged over 65.
ICAA invites Vida Wellness Founder to Annual Convention (22/06/09)
Claudine Aherne, the founder of Vida Wellness, has been invited to present to the Annual Convention of the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA). This conference will be held in Orlando, Florida in December 2009 and features a wide range of thought-provoking seminars from experts across the active ageing industry.
AACC Invitation to Vida Wellness Founder (29/11/08)
A new online community has been developed to help professionals advance their study of active ageing and enhance the delivery of services to older adults. The Active Aging Community Center (AACC) is being launched by Human Kinetics in 2009 and will provide researchers and practitioners with the most comprehensive central source of information further their work in active ageing. We are excited to announce that Claudine Aherne, Managing Director of Vida Wellness, will be a UK Ambassador for the AACC. Claudine will be working with Human Kinetics to launch and develop the AACC with active ageing researchers and practitioners in the UK.
BHFNC Good Practice Recognition for Vida Wellness (22/11/08)
Vida Wellness is pleased to announce that one of their current projects was recently recognised as a good practice programme at the British Heart Foundation National Centre (BHFNC) conference in November 2008. Vida Wellness has been working alongside Wandsworth Borough Council and Wandsworth Teaching PCT to increase activity levels amongst sheltered housing residents. The number of residents reached has trebled since 2005, and significant health benefits have been reported both by residents and by the Sheltered Housing Officers who are trained and mentored in delivering exercise classes.
